In the international education landscape, the curriculum is the core foundation for university admissions. Pegasus California School in Qingdao has long been devoted to authentic American education. Centered on the official American California A–G curriculum and bolstered by 30+ AP courses, alongside specialized language and research programs, we have built a comprehensive, coherent course matrix that aligns with the admissions logic of top overseas universities—allowing students to immerse themselves in authentic American high school education without ever leaving the country.

As a local authentic American-style international high school, Pegasus implements full-foreign-teacher immersive instruction throughout. We follow the rigorous American California A–G curriculum, meeting California's local high school teaching standards, using exclusively imported American textbooks, conducting all classes in English, and strictly adhering to the graduation credit requirements of American high schools.
Our school has deep expertise in the integrated model of American high school + AP courses, serving as a specialized AP course teaching center. We offer more than 30 premium AP advanced courses on campus, comprehensively covering mainstream academic tracks in science and engineering, business, humanities, and the arts—precisely matching the application plans for different majors at various top universities at home and abroad.
Our required core courses are fully comprehensive, encompassing seven core pillars: history and social sciences, academic English, mathematics, laboratory sciences, foreign languages, arts, and college readiness. Grades 9 through 12 employ a tiered, progressive teaching approach with a coherent academic system. Students complete their American high school foundational courses and AP advanced courses in one seamless on-campus journey, steadily building a solid academic foundation and efficiently sprinting toward the world's top institutions.
Our scientific GPA process-based evaluation abandons the "score-only" mentality. Grades are composed of classroom performance, assignments, project-based work, attendance, and daily assessments—emphasizing the learning process, critical thinking, and independent inquiry capabilities, fully aligned with the evaluation logic of American university admissions.
For the Academy stage (Grades 7–8), we offer five courses: ESL, social sciences, mathematics, science, and arts, helping students smoothly transition into the American full-English high school curriculum. Courses are taught through a combined Chinese and foreign teacher model. ESL courses use immersive English instruction combined with detailed knowledge breakdowns to rapidly improve students' comprehensive academic English skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Social sciences, mathematics, and science courses bridge American disciplinary knowledge systems, specialized English terminology, and inquiry-based learning thinking, solidifying a foundation in both liberal arts and sciences. The arts course focuses on cultivating students' comprehensive artistic literacy. The entire curriculum is precisely adapted to the pace of international course learning, helping students quickly break through learning barriers, develop international academic thinking, and lay a solid foundation for high school AP coursework and overseas university applications.
The campus strictly enforces an English Only policy. ELD language courses provide targeted improvement in academic English—from daily communication to professional reading and writing—enabling rapid adaptation to full-English classrooms overseas. Students who complete their full high school education at Pegasus can apply TOEFL-waived to nearly 60 Top 100 universities across the United States.

Pegasus California School remains steadfast in its educational mission: to unlock the potential within every student. Through a standardized, professional, and personalized American curriculum system, we build a bridge for Chinese students to reach world-class universities, empowering every student to achieve their study-abroad dreams.
